![]() Writer's guidelines
|
1. The Palestine Report Online is very interested in recruiting stringers to write on a piece-by-piece basis. In most circumstances, compensation is offered for articles. Interested writers should look at back issues of the Report to get a sense of departments and style.
2. All articles written for the Palestine Report Online are sold to us on a first international rights basis. Once an article is printed in Palestine Report , all rights revert back to the author for reprinting or reuse as the author sees fit. All inquiries to the Editors requesting the right to reprint and resell articles published in the Palestine Report will be directed to the stringer. (Non-profit groups may be given reprint rights without the author's permission, as long as the original source is named.) 3. All articles written by stringers for the Palestine Report Online must be their original work, well -researched, with original quotes. If quotes are taken from another news agency report, that report should be cited as the source of the quote. Stringers may be asked to produce the names and phone numbers of all sources for additional fact-checking. Anonymous sources should only be used in cases when the source's life or livelihood is in danger and only in cases where the information that they give can be supported by other sources or facts. The Report 's Editors may also choose to withhold the name of a sex crime victim or underage criminal suspect, if necessary. 4. While the Palestine Report realizes that its writers must sell stories repeatedly in order to make a living, its Editors feel strongly that the publication has a right to protect its "investment" in their work. Therefore, all original articles submitted to the Palestine Report Online must NOT have been printed elsewhere previously, nor should they appear simultaneously in any other publication. This policy applies even when the article is altered in the editing process or translated to another language. In cases when reprints from other publications are used in the Palestine Report, the Editors will note that fact in the Report. 5. The Editors reserve the right to reject any article at any time. 6. Story ideas and submissions should be sent to: Palestine Report Online P.O. Box 25047, East Jerusalem, via Israel or to our email address, palreport@palestinereport.org |
