  About PR

Palestine Report Online is a project of the Jerusalem Media and Communications Center in Jerusalem. It is a continuation of the print Palestine Report, which was established over twelve years ago as a means of informing English-speakers about Palestinians and their daily lives in the context of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The Jerusalem Media and Communications Center (JMCC) was started in 1988, in the early months of the Palestinian uprising, by a group of Palestinian journalists and researchers seeking to provide information on events in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The Palestine Report has been one medium for its message.

Palestine Report Online is the JMCC's most recent effort to fulfill the needs of writers and policy-makers in the aftermath of the 1993 Oslo Accords. As an independent news digest, it answers a need both inside and outside the West Bank and Gaza for succinct, current news in English, as well as investigative reporting. The Report's readers have always found its political focus and translations from the Arabic press an invaluable barometer of local trends. Palestine Report Online's additional attention to quality reporting on internal Palestinian concerns sets it apart from other news outlets.
